Your go-to resource for Community Support and supplies specifically focused on Type 1 Diabetes management.

Established in 2025 and based out of Minnesota, Shots of Hope is a response to the challenges of living with type 1 diabetes. Our mission is to foster community support while raising awareness for type 1 diabetes and the obstacles faced by those managing this condition. We are committed to bridging the gap in healthcare disparities through education and support for effective diabetes management.

We believe that no one should face type 1 diabetes alone. Shots of Hope offers community support and educational resources to bridge the gaps in the healthcare system for individuals with type 1 diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong diagnosis that requires constant diabetes management. Currently, type 1 diabetics rely on insulin and need specific medical access to specialists, prescriptions, and devices to help manage their condition effectively. However, a significant portion of the diabetic population in the United States lacks access to these essential medical necessities, leading to deteriorating health, amputations, and even death.
Living with T1D, like many other medical diagnoses, is not a choice. Shots of Hope is committed to raising awareness to the unequal medical access and is dedicated to helping those in need gain access to the supplies necessary for effective diabetes management while advocating for a cure.
The Fight Against Big Pharmaceutical
In 1923, in Toronto, Canada, three individuals—Sir Frederick Banting, Charles H. Best, and James Collip—successfully developed and tested insulin. They decided to sell the patent for just $1.00 each to the University of Toronto to ensure that insulin would remain affordable and accessible to those in need. The University later sold the insulin to Eli Lilly, resulting in a dramatic increase in cost.
Join the movement for affordable insulin and make your voice heard. Help us by signing the petition to lower insulin costs to what they were originally intended to be.
"Insulin does not belong to me, it belongs to the World!"
-Frederick Banting
